Phoenix (as in the Bios) company has come up with a little program for mobile devices and laptops and such that means you don't have to boot into windows for certain common apps, and the boot time becomes nearly instant. Apparently Microsoft isn't very happy about it, as it shows the bloated Windows OS's shortcomings. (After all, my boot time hasn't changed since windows 3.11, even though my current computer is a bajillon times faster).
