Pffft. Everybody is freaking out about this. Big deal. I attribute the crazy specs to very poorly optimized code. This game was written for consoles first and todays consoles are a tremendous bit different from a PC. If you dont take the time to make the game utilize the PC better you are going to have some issues. If you are just looking to make as much cash as possible you just make the customer pick up the "code optimization" bill by buying a bigger box.

Simply a case of sloppy code. And besides the rather crazy ram specs not actually a very crazy box at all. In fact, the budget box at arstechnica exceeds all specs but ram for less than $800 INCLUDING 19" LCD. Throw in another $50 for 2 more gigs of ram and you are set.

I have seen lots of guys saying stuff like "This is why PC gaming is dead" or "This is why I gave up on PC gaming and went strictly console". I say that is fine, but obviously those guys dont realize that PC gaming has always been more expensive than console gaming. Us die hard PC guys are used to it. You console guys that are willing to put $400 to a console are kind of getting ripped off though in my opinion. For another $200 you could have a box that does everything your console does, and so much more. Too much to even scratch the surface of in a comment.
