DX10 Is A Crock

Caught this over at bluesnews... Anandtech's done a little writeup on DX10.

[It] looks at DirectX 10 performance with a critical eye. While first taking care to remind us of the technical benefits of the new DirectX, they point out that: "Many of the features currently implemented in DirectX 10 could also be done using DirectX 9. Additionally, those features that are truly DX10 only either don't add much beyond what we would get other wise, or require quite a bit of processing power to handle." The article then goes on to detail just how much horsepower they are talking about and the performance hit this entails by comparing DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 performance in a variety of games, while also providing insights into which video cards handle the load best.
